 Bushfire Helicopter Support at Wombeyan |

Skyfuel has a special interest in the provision of refuelling services for helicopters and firebombers during the NSW summer bushfire season. Working closely with the NSW Rural Fire Service and National Parks and Wildlife Service, Skyfuel is tasked at short notice to remote locations known as ‘Airbases’ to supply hot refuelling and drum refilling. There, we form into refuelling teams, consisting of RFS personnel and a Skyfuel team member. For short term supply we will use one of our special fire tankers or mobile drum dispensers, and for longer term solutions, where a fire is expected to be prolonged, we can station a skid tank with pumping equipment. Skyfuel has refuelled millions of litres since commencing fire operations in 1996 in support of Hevilift. |
