Temora
Aviation Flying Weekend - August 2006
The
Temora Aviation Museum Flying Weekend held in August 06 was deemed
to be the 'best ever'. Record crowds were on hand to witness some
spectacular displays by RAAF 77 SQDN F18 Hornets under perfect
blue skies. The Museums usual line up of jet and piston warbirds
also looked terrific. Skyfuel was on hand with two tankers to
serve Jet A-1+ FSII. Temora's flying weekends are a must see for
any aviation enthusiast and you can find more at www.aviationmuseum.com.au.
Skyfuel would like to thank Brian Pendlebury who volunteered his
time to assist with the refuelling effort.

Skyfuel
now at Taree
In
December Skyfuel became the Shell Jet fuel distributor at Taree
NSW. We have been lucky to retain the services of Paul Weaver
who has been refuelling at Taree for the past ten years. Paul
prides himself on his customer service and 24 hour availability.
If you need jet fuel on the NSW mid coast please drop in and see
Paul. His number is 0407 290 925 and he is available 24/7. One
hour notice is usually required and a small call out fee may be
applied after business hours – check with Paul for details.

Another
successful Fire Season
Skyfuel
has been operating a fleet of tankers in the ACT, NSW, Victoria
and Tasmania this year. As the season winds down we would like to

awarded Fire Contracts 2005/2006
Skyfuel has been selected as the official
fuel supplier to the Skycrane and Bell 212’s being imported
this season for the NSW RFS. Our freightliner semi trailer will
be supporting the Skycrane in conjunction with Sydney Helicopters
at Granville. Our rigid tankers will be supporting the Wildcat
B212’s (pictured) located at Bankstown, Canberra and Hobart
in conjunction with HeliAust. Look out for our team at the next
bushfire!

Another
successful Bathurst under our belts
Early October saw the running of the
annual V8 Supercar 1000 at Mt Panorama. Again, Skyfuel was contracted
to supply helicopter refuelling as well as supply the racing fuel
for the supporting historic category. A great weekend was had
by all and the pilots appreciated the rain shelter (and coffees)
provided by the Skyfuel campervan.

refuels VP Day – Canberra
In August we travelled to Canberra to refuel
the Victory in the Pacific Celebration organized by thr RAAF. A
multitude of historic and current warbirds and helicopters took
turns flying formation circuits around Lake Burley Griffin, in front
of a veteran packed display line. A truly spectacular site for us
and all involved – imagine a formation consisting of a P40
(lead a/c), Spitfire, Mustang, Meteor and an F18 blasting overhead
at 500 ft. Hard to beat and probably never to be repeated. –
you just had to be there! |
